On June 6, the Barony of Endewearde, a local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, set up a medieval village at Fort Knox. Dressed in period garb, participants re-created life in a pre-seventeenth century village, showcasing arts, combat and traditional culture. For visitors to the fort, it was a unique opportunity to learn about medieval armor, table games, textile art, housing and more.
According to the barony’s website, the SCA community “includes over 30,000 members in 20 kingdoms around the globe.” Members “learn about the arts, skills, and culture of the Middle Ages and Renaissance in an atmosphere of fun, through tournaments, royal courts, feasts, dancing, classes, hands-on workshops, and more.”
