In celebration of its 150th anniversary, Camden National Bank closed its offices and banking centers for the afternoon of Sept. 10 to allow 600 employees to fan out across the state for volunteer projects, according to a press release.

Bank employees volunteered at 65 nonprofits in Maine and New Hampshire for the bank's “Community Well-being Day.” Locally, bank employees volunteered at Blue Hill Heritage Trust, helping with the conservation group’s properties around the Peninsula.

“Giving our time and talents to the community isn’t just about lending a hand; it’s about strengthening relationships, creating meaningful impact, and shaping the kind of place we’re proud to call home,” said Simon Griffiths, president and chief executive officer of Camden National Bank. “As we celebrate 150 years, we’re honoring our legacy of personal financial guidance, digital innovation, and deep-rooted community support.”

Camden National Bank was founded in 1875, sharing space with the local Five and Ten Cent Store in Camden, Maine, to support the community's individuals and small businesses. The bank has 72 branches throughout Maine and New Hampshire.
