  • Bagaduce Music 49 South Street Blue Hill, ME, 04614 United States (map)

Join Native Gardens of Blue Hill for a free community celebration of native plants and ecological gardening on Saturday, December 13 from 10 am-12 pm at the Bagaduce Music Performance Hall, 49 South St, Blue Hill. Highlights include the sharing of native seeds and garden books, a winter seed sowing demonstration, seed packet decorating, and garden-themed raffle prizes.

“We’re honored to host this annual gathering that celebrates native plants, biodiversity, and the community resilience that grows through the free exchange of seeds and knowledge,” shares Rachel Emus, NGBH Garden Manager. “The event helps gardeners become empowered, confident stewards of their landscapes, while providing a free, welcoming experience for the whole community.”

NGBH envisions this event as an educational and social opportunity for gardeners and those curious about native plants to connect. Experts from NGBH and the community will be available to answer questions and guide participants who would like help choosing their seeds. At 10:30 am, Molly DellaRoman of 5 Star Nursery will offer a demonstration and share tips on sowing native seeds and overwintering them. From 11:00 am to noon, attendees can exchange seeds and gather inspiration for their home landscapes. During this time, Diana Chamberlain of The Branching Path will host a creative activity for attendees who want to decorate their seed packets as holiday gifts.
