Birding for Beginners

Birding might seem intimidating if you have never tried it, but this activity is truly for everyone! Join a BHHT staff member for a welcoming introduction to the basics of bird identification paired with a relaxed hike. Along the way you will have plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, ask questions, and build confidence in a supportive environment. No prior experience required – just bring your curiosity!

Binoculars will be available for adults and older children to borrow ( and we will also show you how to use them!) but participants are welcome to bring their own. BHHT will also provide field guides to share.

This event is open to participants 8 years and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please be prepared to hike approximately 1 mile on easy-moderate trails. Trails can be muddy this time of year, so wear boots or shoes that can get grimy and wet!

This event is limit to 10 participants.
