Hello & Happy Holidays from all of us here at Penobscot Fire Department! Thank you so much for your lifesaving work of giving blood. Our Penobscot Day drive was very successful, collecting 40% over our goal with 35 units, and 15% first time donors. The Red Cross was impressed and surprised at the high turnout (we weren't, though - we know how amazing our town is!) We are proud to announce the launch of the Penobscot Blood Drive coming up in 6 weeks, on Saturday, January 10th 2026 from 9 am - 2 pm! While there's still plenty of time to register, and we have about 28 slots available, slots are filling quickly - so please register soon. Walk-ins are on a space available basis only. The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
