Internationally acclaimed Nordic string band FRIGG returns to Maine for a three day Bagaduce Music Residency of concerts, workshops, and community celebrations from 1/31 through 2/2, presented by Bagaduce Music. Joining the band throughout the tour is Maine guitarist Noah Fishman, adding a special local collaboration to the stage.
Hailed worldwide as pioneers of the “Nordgrass” sound, FRIGG blends Finnish pelimanni fiddle traditions, Nordic dance music with its Baroque roots, bluegrass drive, and contemporary acoustic innovation. Their dynamic lineup—multiple fiddles, guitar, mandolin, and double bass—delivers dazzling instrumental interplay and infectious rhythms that bring audiences to their feet.
"Take a spin on the dance floor, no experience needed!”
Over the course of the weekend, FRIGG will perform three concerts across the state and lead musician workshops, along with informal SpelMaineslag afterparties that invite audiences and musicians into shared music-making and Scandinavian dance.
