Healthy Peninsula will host a Medicare Information Session with Vince Murray, from Maine Medicare Choices. The session will be held at Healthy Peninsula’s weekly Walk-in Café, located in the Jonathan Fisher Hall (downstairs) at the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill, 22 Tenney Hill Road in Blue Hill.
This session will be useful for anyone interested in learning about Medicare, specifically the Medicare programs offered to those living in the towns on the Blue Hill Peninsula and Deer Isle. Mr. Murray will help participants understand the different parts of Medicare and what plans are accepted by health care providers in this region (including Northern Light Health).
Understanding the different Medicare plans is especially important now, as Medicare Open Enrollment is from October 15 to December 7, and eligible community members can choose or change what plan is best for them during this time. Medicare is the federal health insurance program primarily for people aged 65 and older, as well as certain younger individuals with disabilities. Understanding your options during Open Enrollment can help ensure that you choose the right coverage for your healthcare needs and budget.
