BLUE HILL—The First Congregational Church of Blue Hill will host its annual Blueberry Pancake Social on August 8 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m
Guests “will enjoy a hearty homemade breakfast featuring fluffy blueberry pancakes made with Maine wild blueberries, including the option for gluten-free pancakes, along with vegetarian baked beans, fresh fruit, coffee, tea, and orange juice,” a press release said. Fresh, organic Maine blueberries and blueberry baked goods will also be available for purchase.
Participants are encouraged to “relax over breakfast while enjoying live music provided by four different local music groups, performing in alternating areas,” the release said, and “catch up with friends and take in the welcoming atmosphere under the church's outdoor tents.” If it rains, the church will provide indoor seating.
More than just a breakfast, “the annual Blueberry Pancake Social is a celebration of community.” The event is organized entirely by church volunteers, the release said, and aims to “bring neighbors and visitors together over good food, live music, and conversation while supporting the church's ongoing outreach, ministry, and community programs.”
“We’re excited to welcome neighbors and visitors for a morning of great food, music, and community connection,” said volunteer coordinator Maria Kolenda Fulton in the release. “It’s a wonderful way to celebrate summer and our wild blueberry harvest in Blue Hill.”
The breakfast is $12 for adults and $7 for children aged 10 and under.
The First Congregational Church is located at 22 Tenney Hill in Blue Hill and parking is available nearby. For additional information, please contact the church office at (207) 374-2891 or visit the church's website at bluehillcongregational.org/.
