BROOKLIN–The Friend Memorial Public Library in Brooklin will host an online auction throughout the month of February to benefit the library’s capital campaign. All proceeds will go towards the campaign, now in its third year, according to a press release.

“With over 50 items and services to choose from, there is something for everyone and

every budget. Local artists have been generous with donating paintings, photographic prints, handmade jewelry, pottery, and other works of art,” the release said.

Featured items and experiences from the “Love Your Library” auction include a trip on fisherman David Tarr’s lobster boat, an afternoon sail on a Herreshoff yawl, a catered dinner from chef La Mason, lessons from a computer expert, bird walks, gardening consultations, photographs, artistic creations, and more.

The auction will begin at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 1 and end at 12 p.m. on Saturday,

Feb. 28. The auction may be accessed via the library’s website or at a special page set up for the event.

The library is in the midst of a capital campaign to renovate and expand its 1912 building, including the creation of the Anne and Maynard Bray Maritime Research Center. Ground breaking on construction will take place this spring, library officials say.
