THE U-TURN: Boat aground in Blue Hill

Plus, not-so-feathered friends meet at a Brooksville pond

HARD GROUND—A lobster boat belonging to Stacy Emerton was pushed up onto the rocks at The Nub in Conary Cove in Blue Hill during last weekend’s nor’easter. The boat went aground sometime during the overnight hours between Sept. 27-28. Crews later hoisted the boat off the rocks for repairs. The nor’easter that rolled into the peninsula brought weekend gusts that topped 35 miles an hour. Photo by Steele Hays.

ODD COUPLE—A plastic pink flamingo that summer's in Jerry Andrew's Brooksville pond seems to be giving this Canada goose the side eye. Photo courtesy of Bill Schmitt.
