THE U-TURN: Docks, dirt and dancing
Y’ALL DANCE NOW—The Damn, Girls! band turned the Blue Hill Public Library into a truck stop dance hall on October 4, performing country and western favorites to an enthusiastic crowd. The concert raised more than $3,000 for the library and the Tree of Life food pantry. Band members (from left) Lori Sitzabee, Amy Grant, Sally Mills and Kim Parrott were backed by the Hella Band for the two-hour event. Photo by Tricia Thomas.
SEASON’S END: October marks the end of pleasure boating for most area residents, and that means it's time to pull the boats—and the docks—for winter storage. A.H. Marine employees are shown here loading dock sections at the Naskeag Point wharf on Oct. 11. Photo by Steele Hays.
