Camp scholarships now available for Audubon programs

Downeast Audubon has a number of summer camp scholarships available for 2026.

Downeast Audubon will again be sponsoring summer camp scholarships for students to attend programs on Mount Desert Island, Hog Island, and Hurricane Island.

Students can choose to apply for a full scholarship to attend any one of the following camps appropriate for their age:

  • National Audubon Hog Island, Mountains to Sea birding for teens 14-17 (June 28-July 3)

  • Acadia Institute for Oceanography, introductory program for ages 10–12 (June 21–26); intermediate program for ages 12-14 (June 28-July 10); and advanced program for ages 15-18 (July 26-Aug 7).

  • Hurricane Island Summer Science Camp for middle school students July 12-17, and high school students June 28-July 3 or July 5-10.

Students must submit an application (found at downeastaudubon.org), a letter of interest, and letter of recommendation from a teacher. All application materials are due by Feb. 27. Winners will be announced by Apr. 13.
