STONINGTON–Stonington Public Library will host a family sunset cruise aboard Isle au Haut Boat Services’ Otter on July 17 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
According to a press release, Captain Garret Aldrich will take passengers on “a memorable evening tour of Stonington Harbor” to “bask in a glorious sunset.” Proceeds from the tour will benefit the library’s public programming. No food or beverages will be served on the cruise, the release said, but participants are “welcome to bring along light bites and beverages to enjoy.”
SPL is handling all reservations for the family sunset cruise, the release said, and there is a minimum $50 suggested donation. To make reservations and for additional payment information, contact SPL by phone at 207-367-5926 or by email at stonington.public.library@gmail.com.
“We are so happy to keep this tradition alive by offering a fun, family centered event as part of the library’s fundraising and program offerings,” said library director Ethan Yankura in the release. “Captain Aldrich and the Isle au Haut boat line do so much for the library, and we appreciate all they do.”
The cruise departs from the Isle au Haut Boat Service dock at 7:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged to arrive early, the release said, and to “dress appropriately, as weather conditions can vary on the water.”
