‘All aboard!’ for Stonington Library family cruise

The “fun-filled” will cruise around Stonington Harbor

STONINGTON–The Stonington Public Library will host a family cruise aboard the Isle au Haut mailboat Otter on May 16 at 11:00 a.m. According to a press release from the library, the “fun-filled” cruise around Stonington Harbor is part of the Island Heritage Trust’s annual Wings, Waves, and Woods event.

Captain Garrett Aldrich will pilot the one-hour trip and “read a picture book to his audience during this cruise around the harbor,” the release said. While the event is free, registration is required as space is limited. To sign up, please email the library at stonington.public.library@gmail.comand include your phone number, names of passengers, and ages of children.

“We are so happy to participate in the Island Heritage Trust’s annual Wings, Waves, and Woods festival again this year,” said library director Ethan Yankura in the release. “This is a fun, community event that offers participants an opportunity to take in so many of the area’s natural sights and experiences.”

Otter departs at 11:00 AM, so please arrive early and be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. The library is grateful to the Isle au Haut Boat Services for making the event possible, the release said.
