‘Stolen’ item falls off truck
Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
Blue Hill
An individual requested assistance to keep the peace on Jan. 31. Deputy Gregory Mailhot responded to the residence and helped the individual retrieve their personal belongings.
Bucksport
Officer Jesse Dow responded to a report of a problem relating to a landlord entering a tenants apartment on Jan. 26.
On Jan. 26 an individual reported a burglary in their residence. The incident remains under investigation.
Dale Fairbrother, 58, of Bucksport was charged with theft on Jan. 28.
On Jan. 29 Margaret Coleman, 64, of Bucksport was making a left hand turn off of Russell Hill Road when her vehicle collided with Avery Sandoval, 20, of Orland. Sandoval, who was traveling southbound on Duck Cove Road, tried to avoid a crash but went off the roadway into a snow bank. Both were wearing their seatbelts and no injuries were reported.
Jacob Chase, 29, of Bucksport was arrested on Jan. 29 for operating under the influence.
On Jan. 30, Steven Silva, 30, of Miami, FL, received a citation for speeding on River Road.
On Jan. 31, Officer Robert Findlay investigated a possible theft from a truck. The missing item was later discovered to have fallen off the truck.
Castine
On Jan. 30 the sheriff's office assisted the Maine Warden Service in dispatching a deer. A tag was provided to the person who took the deer.
Orland
Matthew Mcdonald, 49, of Ellsworth hit a deer on Acadia Highway on Jan. 29. The deer jumped into the road while he was heading east. No injuries were reported but the vehicle was damaged.
Sedgwick
On Feb. 1 Jacob Leblanc, 29, of Sedgwick turned himself in on an active arrest warrant in Ellsworth. He was processed at the Hancock County Jail.
Two juveniles received a warning on Jan. 31 after operating their ATVs on a public way.
Stonington
On Jan. 30, Deputy Gregory Mailhot responded to a Stonington residence for two individuals arguing. Both parties were separated for the evening without incident.
Surry
The sheriff’s office assisted the Ellsworth police department in locating and stopping an intoxicated driver on Jan. 27.
