Warrant arrests, DUI and driving 30 mph over speed limit
Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
Blue Hill
As a result of a traffic stop on the Mines Road, Eric Redman, of Orland was given a citation for operating with a suspended license on Feb. 1.
Stonington
Erica Merritt, 45, of Stonington was arrested on an active arrest warrant on Feb. 6 and was transported to the Hancock County Jail.
Surry
As the result of a traffic stop made by Deputy Jones on Feb. 4 on the Surry Road in Ellsworth, Jonah Uphouse, 17, of Surry was charged with exceeding the speed limit by 30 miles per hour or more and was given a summons to appear at the Ellsworth District Court at a later date.
On Feb. 6, Sgt. Marcus Downes assisted the Maine State Police with crash reconstruction of a fatal accident that happened on the Blue Hill Road.
James Pendleton, 30, of Surry was arrested on an active arrest warrant on Feb. 6 and taken to the Hancock County Jail.
Orland
Joel Allen, 38, of Orland was arrested on a warrant for gross sexual assault and was booked at the Hancock County Jail.
Bucksport
Cayden Gross, 19, of Orland was charged on Feb. 4 for operating after suspension.
On Feb. 4, a male reported items stolen from his apartment. The incident is under investigation.
Dillan Dow, 22, of Lee was arrested on Feb. 5 for operating under the influence.
Damian Spelas, 42, of Orland was given a citation on Feb. 6 for operating after suspension. During the same stop, Brianna Smith, 28, of Sedgwick was issued a citation for failure to obtain a Maine license.
Deer Isle
On Feb. 3, a Deer Isle resident reported someone at their residence they did not want there. Deputy Grindle responded to the scene. The subject was gone upon arrival.
On Feb. 5, Deputy Jones assisted the Calais Police Dept with making contact with a Deer Isle resident.
Sedgwick
Clinton Weed, 60, of Sedgwick was arrested on an active arrest warrant on Feb. 3 and transported to the Hancock County Jail.
