A suspicious vehicle, kids on dirtbikes, and senior celebrations

Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Bucksport

Tony Morelli, 61, of Thomaston, and his passenger, Laura Morelli, 56, of Thomaston, were exiting the Hannaford parking lot when Valerie Hopkins, 66, of Orland, rear-ended his car. No injuries were reported but Hopkins was cited for following too closely. 

According to the report, “at least one” vehicle was reported driving on a lawn to avoid the “Pond Street barricade” on May 31.

On May 31, kids on bikes were reported on the baseball field.

During a 911 call on June 1, males were heard talking in the background. No emergency was reported.

Bruce Sullivan, 62, of Stockton Springs, struck a deer while traveling northbound on River Road on June 1. No injuries were reported.

A resident reported an “upset female at her door” on June 1, according to the report.

A 911 call from the Miles Lane School was abandoned on June 1. No emergency was reported.

A juvenile was transported for evaluation on June 1.

A bicycle was found on the waterfront on June 2.

Corey Maine, 50, of Orland, was summonsed on June 2 for operating after suspension and violating conditions of release.

A juvenile was stopped for riding a dirtbike in the roadway on June 2.

On June 2, Officer Eric Marcel responded to a report of a pedestrian acting unusual.

A report of a verbal domestic dispute resulted in no charges on June 3.

On June 3, Deputy Chief David Winchester provided special detail for the BHS Senior Walk.

Deputy Chief David Winchester assisted an incident on the Penobscot Narrows Bridge on June 3.

A resident reported an “out of control” neighbor on June 3, according to the report.

A resident reported an individual pounding on their door on June 3. No charges were filed.

A cat was struck by a vehicle on June 4.

On June 4, a female resident reported a parking problem.

Officer Matt Schmidt assisted the Bangor Police Department with a stolen vehicle incident on June 4.

A resident reported an erratic motor vehicle on the roadway on June 4.

A “possible intoxicated individual” was reported on June 4, according to the report.

Officer Matt Schmidt provided special detail for the BHS graduation on June 5.

A passerby was reported on June 5 for “acting unusual,” the report said.

Officer Robert Findlay helped locate the owners of a dog that was seen in the roadway on June 6.

Disorderly conduct by protestors was reported on June 6.

On June 6, a citizen requested police presence after being threatened.

Orland

Deputy Devin Grindle received a theft complaint on June 1.

On June 6, Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo investigated a suspicious vehicle on a property. The operator was identified, and the property owner confirmed that they had permission to be there.

Surry

Alyssa Powell, 36, of Ellsworth was arrested on June 2 on an active arrest warrant. She was summonsed for unlawful possession of a Schedule W drug and violating conditions of release, and was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.
