A lewd hitch hiker, missing items

Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Blue Hill

Sergeant Robert Morange responded to a verbal domestic dispute report on Aug. 6. He met with both parties and determined that no crime had occurred. 

On Aug. 8, Jill Hymers, 58, of Blue Hill was arrested for operating under the influence. She was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.

Bucksport

A female was found in the roadway trying to hitch hike on Aug. 2.

On Aug. 2, officers received a report of disorderly conduct.

Megan Patten, 36, of Penobscot was arrested on Millvale Road for obstructing the roadway. She was transported to the Hancock County Jail.

Jean Louis Morin was parked in a parking space by Bucksport Waterfront Restaurant on Aug. 2 when Dawn Elaine Danforth, 83, of Bucksport attempted to park beside Morin’s vehicle. Danforth hit Morin’s vehicle as she attempted to park. Danforth struck the car again while trying to back out of the same area.

Officer Robert Findlay responded to a report of an ongoing issue with a barking dog on Aug. 2.

An unknown male “dropped off ammo” on Aug. 2, the report said.

A loose dog was reported on Aug. 2.

On Aug. 2, Rustin Chute, 47, of Bucksport, was summonsed for operating without a license.

A limb was found hanging over a roadway on Aug. 3. The public works department was contacted.

A suspicious vehicle was found running with its lights on on Aug. 3.

Darren Moulton, 60, of Searsport, was arrested on Aug. 3 for possession of drugs, violation of conditions of release, and endangering the welfare of a child.

A resident found a ladder left on his property on Aug. 3.

Officer Jesse Dow received a report on Aug. 3 that a deer had been hit.

A female reported a “domestic situation” on Aug. 4, the report said.

According to the report, a female reported having “domestic issues again” on Aug. 4.

Aiden Gilley, 18, of Sullivan, received a citation for speeding on Aug. 4.

A credit card was turned in on Aug. 4.

On Aug. 4, a suspicious vehicle was reported.

A cell phone found on Aug. 4 was turned in.

“Unwanted subjects” were reported on a property on Aug. 4, the report said.

Gunshots were heard on Aug. 4.

On Aug. 4, a homeless encampment was found.

Gloria Bickford, 83, of Orland, struck the side of the Post Office building on Aug. 5 after accidentally pushing the gas--instead of the brakes-- while entering a parking spot.

A commercial burglarly alarm went off on Aug. 5. It was determined to be a false alarm.

A fender bender occurred behind the Town Office on Aug. 5. In the end, the incident was non-reportable.

According to the report, a male reported a vehicle “all over the road” on Aug. 5.

On Aug. 5, an erratic vehicle traveling from Orland towards Bucksport was reported.

A caller reported that a manhole cover was obstructing the roadway on School Street--near the Redemption Center--on Aug. 6.

Officers conducted a welfare check on a man in a wheelchair on the side of Rt. 46 on Aug. 6. A child was with him.

Sheila Lank, 57, of Eastport, received a citation for speeding on Aug. 6.

A vehicle struck a street sign on Aug. 8. The sign was damaged but the vehicle left, heading towards Verona Island. The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office was notified and the incident remains under investigation.

Nathaniel Bridgeo, 32, of Ellsworth, received a citation for failing to display a valid inspection sticker on Aug. 6.

Officer Chris Sargent responded to a civil problem regarding the return of property on Aug. 6.

A flashing light “near the school” was reported on Aug. 6, the report said. A street light report was made via Central Maine Power Company’s online portal.

On Aug. 7, a tree was found blocking the roadway.

A moose was reported on the golf course on Aug. 7.

Brayden Brescia, 19, of Caribou, received a citation for speeding on Aug. 7.

According to the report, a female was seen hitch hiking and “acting lewd” on Aug. 7.

A theft report remains under investigation after a caller reported stolen property on Aug. 7.

Jared Deans, 26, of Winterport, received a citation for speeding on Aug. 7.

On Aug. 7, juveniles were found playing in the road.

A kitten was found on Aug. 8.

After receiving a request for a well-being check on Aug. 8, an elderly male was given a ride home.

The report said that a female reported “seeing things in her apartment” on Aug. 8.

A female reported a red truck dumping trash at the gate to the transfer station on Aug. 8.

Trung Pham, 30, of Belmont, received a citation for speeding on Aug. 8.

On Aug. 8, a male reported a disabled motor vehicle at the bottom on Nicholson Street.

James Robinson, 36, of Cherryfield, was charged with operating after suspension on Aug. 8.

Surry

Sergeant Robert Morang, Lieutenant Brian Archer and Deputy Devin Grindle responded to a possible domestic fight on July 28. The parties involved were uncooperative and it was not possible to establish a probable cause case that an assault had occurred.

Daniel Whitney, 38, of Surry, was arrested on Aug. 9 after a car crash for operating under the influence and operating without a license. He was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.

Orland

The Bar Harbor Police Department requested assistance from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office on July 29. They were trying to retrieve property but found that the property was no longer in the county.

Sergeant Travis Frost assisted the Department of Health and Human Services during a home visit on Aug. 6.
