Grass fire, criminal mischief, goats on the loose

Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Bucksport

An anonymous caller reported an intoxicated driver on July 27.

An individual called to report a citizen dispute when trying to collect belongings from an address.

An out of control permit fire was reported on July 27 after grass caught fire.

An individual reported a “dog off leash” on July 28, the report said.

A subject reported two individuals trespassing on their property on July 28.

Officers served a protection order on July 28 after receiving paperwork from the court system.

On July 28, a resident reported a barking dog.

Officer Dan Harlan responded to a suspicious person report on July 28 after an individual was seen sitting on the side of the road. Officer Harlan determined that the subject was soliciting for a politician.

A person was reported to be “living in [the] town restroom” on July 29.

Goats were on the loose on July 29.

A suspicious car was found parked on July 29.

On July 30, Officer Matt Schmidt received a complaint of an erratic motor vehicle.

A reported theft on July 30 is currently under investigation.

On July 31, a resident submitted a suspicious person report because she thought someone was at her door.

A disorderly conduct report was made on July 30 after someone was “burning irresponsibly,” the report said.

Thomas Ricot, 37, of Bucksport, received a citation for speeding on July 30.

Ruth Ervin, 70, of Montpelier, Virginia, was backing out of a parking spot on Main St. on July 31 when she struck the vehicle of Deborah Henry, 62, of Orland. No injuries were reported.

A vehicle that passed a stopped school bus on July 31 is under investigation.

Dawn Manookian, 53, of Bucksport, was arrested on warrant on July 31.

A commercial burglary alarm was activated on July 31.

On July 31, a caller requested a well-being check on a person seen on the roadside.

Nicholas Fischer, 19, of Hampden, was traveling by motorcycle on July 31 when he went around a corner and saw William Odonell, 77, of Bucksport pulling into the roadway. Fischer crashed into Odonell’s vehicle. Both operators were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and both vehicles were towed.

Staff reported a person refusing to leave a business property on July 31.

Two trucks were reported for “speeding and bad passes” on July 31, the report said.

Jordan Cyr, 35, of Orrington, was summonsed for operating after suspension on July 31.

An ongoing barking dog problem was reported on July 31.

On July 31, Robert Smith, 49, of Bucksport, was charged with theft.

Jordan Cyr, 35, of Bucksport received a citation on July 31 for operating with a suspended license.

Samuel Sheehan, 34, of Penobscot, received a citation for failing to display a valid inspection sticker on Aug. 1.

Blue Hill

Joseph Howe, 46, of Blue Hill, was charged with criminal trespassing on Aug. 4. He was transported to the Hancock County Jail.

John Poole, 47, of Blue Hill, was summonsed for operating without a license on Aug. 1.

Orland

Scott Herbest, 61, was arrested on July 28. He was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.

On Aug. 1, Deputy Gregory Mailhot assisted an ambulance service in locating a patient.

Sedgwick

Kove Snow-Nevells, 23, of Sedgwick, was charged with violating conditions of release on July 30.

Stonington

As a result of a theft complaint from a power company, James Jones, 61, of Stonington, received a summons for criminal mischief and theft on July 29.

Hazel Drouin, 47, of Stonington, was arrested for criminal mischief and domestic assault on Aug. 1. She was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.

Verona

On July 30, Deputy Jordan Knappe responded to a suspicious person complaint and found Melissa Dyer, 47, of Searsport, at a Verona Island home. She was in violation of house arrest bail conditions related to previous drug charges. She was arrested for violation of conditions of release and taken to the Hancock County Jail, with assistance from the Bucksport Police Department.
