Bothersome bug causes accident
Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Blue Hill
On Aug. 24, Sergeant Travis Frost checked on a resident after a family member tried to make contact for several months and were unsuccessful. He was able to speak with the individual and everything was fine.
Sergeant Travis Frost assisted the Maine Department of Health and Human Services at a residence on Aug. 27.
After a well-being check on Aug. 28, Deputy Wyatt Lord determined that the individual was not in need of assistance.
On Aug. 28, Kaleb Nevells, 23, of Blue Hill, was charged with exceeding the speed limit by 30 MPH or more. He was given a summons and will appear in court at a later date, the report said.
Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo conducted a well-being check on two juveniles on behalf of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services on Aug. 29.
Bucksport
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Bucksport Police Department with a traffic stop on Aug. 28.
Officers received a smart watch emergency notice that a resident had fallen on Aug. 23.
On Aug. 23, a wallet was found at Hannaford. It was returned to the owner.
People were parked on both sides of the road on Aug. 23.
A caller requested assistance with a juvenile problem on Aug. 23.
After swatting away a bug that had entered her car on Aug. 24, Nina Emery, 19, of Bucksport, swerved off the roadway, struck an embankment, and rolled over. There were only minor personal injuries, the report said.
A female resident reported a suspicious incident on Aug. 24.
On Aug. 24, Benjamin Cole, 26, of Bucksport, was summonsed for suspended registration.
Stolen mail was returned on Aug. 24.
No charges were filed after a domestic assault report on Aug. 24.
On Aug. 24, a lost dog was reported.
Kimberly Paul, 58 of Bucksport, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant on Aug. 24.
According to the report, possible drug charges are pending after a theft complaint on Aug. 25.
Rusell Blenkhorn, 77, of Verona Island, was pulling out of his parking spot on Aug. 25 when his vehicle was struck by Sherry Dostie, 55, of Blue Hill. Dostie’s car then also hit a parked car belonging to Angela Farnsworth, 47, of Newburgh,
A resident requested a police escort to collect belongings on Aug. 25.
A female reported that a neighbor had ‘mooned her’ on Aug. 25, the report said.
Scott Herbest, 58 of Bucksport, was arrested on an outstanding warrant on Aug. 25.
On Aug. 26, Paul Bussiere, 56, of Brewer, was waiting in a line of traffic at the entrance of the Hannaford parking lot when Tracy Knights, 42, of Penobscot, backed out of a parking spot and “bumped” the side of Bussiere’s vehicle.
A dispute between a business owner and a customer was reported on Aug. 26.
William Grendwald, 63, of Bucksport, struck a parked car with his vehicle on Aug. 26. He was also issued a citation for operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
A dead deer was found at the end of a driveway on Aug. 27. Officers notified the Maine Department of Transportation.
On Aug. 27, a male reported that his caretaker had tried to poison his dog. The incident was investigated and no charges were filed.
An abandoned vehicle was found on Aug. 27.
Officers received a noise complaint on Aug. 27.
A possible road rage incident was reported on Aug. 28.
On Aug. 28, Cadience Fundalewicz, 20, of Bucksport, summonsed for criminal speeding.
A resident requested an officer to speak with a female in crisis on Aug. 28.
On Aug. 28, a loose dog was reported.
Officers received a report of unwanted contact on Aug. 28.
Damage to a restraining wall was reported on Aug. 29.
On Aug. 29, a resident reported ongoing neighbor issues.
A noise complaint was filed on Aug. 29.
An individual requested a well-being check on a person trying to get into a vehicle.
On Aug. 28, Kimberly LaPlant, 51, of Dedham, received a citation for speeding.
Brendan Coates, 21, of Belfast, was issued a citation for speeding on Aug. 28.
Michael Dionne, 64, of Ellsworth, received a citation for speeding on Aug. 28.
On Aug. 28, Vicent Cafarelli, 19, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, received citations for speeding and failure to produce evidence of insurance.
Deer Isle
Deputy Devin Grindle conducted a well-being check at a residence on Aug. 27. The individual was ‘all set,’ the report said.
Orland
Kanyon Grover, 30, of Orland, was arrested on an active arrest warrant on Aug. 28. He was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.
Deputy Mariza Gionfirddo responded to the scene of an ATV accident involving children on Aug. 29 where she assisted the Orland Fire Department and Maine Warden Service.
Stonington
A female was issued a verbal no trespass notice on Aug. 26.
Sedgwick
A man was issued a disorderly conduct warning after being removed from a property on Aug. 26. He was intoxicated.
