Multiple scam reports under investigation
Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Blue Hill
On Sept. 2, a resident reported being scammed out of $100. The case remains under investigation.
Sergeant Robert Morang responded to a report of an unattended death on Sept. 2.
A male was ordered to leave a business on Sept. 5.
On Sept. 5, a male and female from Bucksport were ordered to leave a property.
Deputies responded to a reported assault at the Blue Hill Fair on Sept. 6. The victim of the assault did not want to cooperate with law enforcement and no charges are pending.
Bucksport
A resident reported a potential scam on Aug. 30.
An injured deer was found on Aug. 30.
On Aug. 30, a lost credit card was reported.
The report said that on Aug. 31, a male feeling suicidal requested to speak with an officer.
Stephen Powers, 52, of Searsport, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and operating without a license on Aug. 31.
Lyra Cauley, 23, of Blue Hill, was traveling northbound on River Road when she struck a deer in the roadway.
A vehicle hit a sign and left the scene on Aug. 31. The incident remains under investigation.
Loose dogs were captured on Aug. 31.
A suspicious person near a residence was reported on Sept. 1.
On Sept. 1, officers assisted a female needing a ride home.
William Orcutt, 76, struck a deer in the roadway on Sept. 1.
A male resident reported “kids hanging out by the school,” on Sept. 1, the report said.
On Sept. 1, a resident reported speeding vehicles near his residence.
Officers received a domestic call regarding a mental health incident on Sept. 1.
A resident reported hearing gunshots on Sept. 1.
On Sept. 2, a suspicious male was seen at Circle K.
Officers conducted a welfare check at a residential care facility on Sept. 2.
A female reported being harassed on Sept. 2.
After receiving a report about a dog in a vehicle on Sept. 2, Officer Robert Findlay determined it was all set.
Sony John, 31, of Boston, MA, received a citation for speeding on Sept. 2.
A noise complaint about a barking dog was filed on Sept. 2.
Liam Porter, 19, of Wilton, CT, received a citation for speeding and failure to produce insurance on Sept. 2.
No charges were filed after a fight between juveniles on Sept. 2.
On Sept. 3, a “grayish spotted dog” was seen running loose near Irving, the report said.
A referral on Sept. 3 from the District Attorney’s Office regarding a sex offense is under investigation.
Nicole Sargent, 39, of Sullivan, was charged with operating after suspension on Sept. 3.
Stephen Swensrud, 27, of Sargentville, received a citation for failing to produce evidence of insurance on Sept. 3.
Charles Austin, 29, of Maplewood, NJ, received a citation for improper passing on Sept. 3.
Kevin Pickoski, 45, of Bucksport, received a citation for failing to produce evidence of insurance on Sept. 3.
Nicole Sargent, 39, of Sullivan, received a citation for operating with a suspended license on Sept. 3.
Garrik William Hyde-White, 36, of Topanga, CA, received a citation for speeding on Sept. 4.
A vehicle found parked on the side of the road on Sept. 4 was obstructing the flow of traffic.
Zachary Hall, 30, of Stonington, received a citation for failing to produce evidence of insurance on Sept. 4.
On Sept. 4, a small, gray and black dog was found running loose on Miles Lane.
Brayden Antone, 20, of Hampden, received a citation for failure to display a valid inspection sticker on Sept. 4.
James Dube, 20, of Lincoln, received a citation for speeding on Sept. 4.
Guineafowls were found in the roadway on Sept. 4.
Miklos Bekes, 45, of Hamden, CT, received a citation for speeding on Sept. 4.
William Look, 63, of Jonesport, received a citation for speeding on Sept. 4.
Robert Brennan, 75, of Stockton Springs, rear-ended Catherine Montgomery, 70, of Deep River, CT, at the Rte. 1 intersection on Sept. 5. No injuries were reported.
Deer Isle
On Aug. 31, Mackenzie Loveland, 45, of Stonington was arrested for violating a protective order. Loveland was transported to Hancock County Jail without incident.
Orland
Deputy Gregory Mailhot responded to a residence on Aug. 31 to assist DHHS with family interviews.
Penobscot
Deputies responded to a domestic dispute on Aug. 27. No crimes were committed, and both parties received disorderly conduct warnings.
Sedgwick
Harold Lamson, 55, of Sedgwick was arrested on an active warrant on Sept. 2. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Hancock County Jail.
A resident reported being scammed out of money on Sept. 3. The incident is being investigated by the bank, the report said.
Surry
Sergeant Robert Morang received a potential fraud report on Sept. 4. The incident remains under investigation.
