Sneeze causes minor accident

Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Penobscot

Caleb Boyle, 19,  of Berwick was unable to avoid a collision with a deer on Nov. 17.

Tyler Snow, 26, of Penobscot was unable to avoid a collision with a deer on Nov. 18. No injuries were reported. 

Surry

On Nov 19. Hancock County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Rhode Island State Police by making contact with a Surry resident for a complaint.

On Nov 19. Hancock County Sheriff's Office served paper work to a Surry resident for the Bar Harbor Police Dept.

Brooksville

William Ballou, 41, of Brooksville was arrested on Nov. 21 at his residence on an active warrant. He was transported to Hancock County Jail.

Stonington

Andrea Kunkel, 46, of Stonington attempted to avoid striking a deer on Nov. 20, causing the vehicle to go off the roadway and struck a boulder. Kunkel suffered head and neck injuries and was transported. The passenger, Joshua Allard, 36, suffered minor injuries.

David Brophy, 69, of Stonington was distracted by a “sneeze” and backed into the crossbar of the Stonington Transfer Station compactor. 

Blue Hill

On Nov. 10 Hancock RCC received a request for a well being check on young children. Contact was made with the two children and no concerns for their well being were raised.

On Nov. 10, while something unrelated was being investigated, a late report of a verbal only domestic was reported. One person was issued a disorderly conduct warning.

Hancock County Sheriff’s office assisted EMS on Nov. 22 with a well being check at Hannaford’s. The subject was evaluated and determined to be all set.
