Has to be Maine!

The trees around here are telling us it’s Fall. Photo by Sue Shaw.

There’s a thin green line…

It’s a river of pine

Through the brilliant colors of fall…

There’s a bright blue sky

With the clouds piled high

And the sound of the wild goose call.

There are yellows and reds,

And dried fern beds

And the mists hanging low in the dawn

And beneath birch trees

On golden leaves

There glides a last spring’s fawn.

The liquid jewels

Of the rivers and pools

Reflect back a dazzling light

And the morning frost coats

All the shed roofs and boats

And paints all the dooryards white.

And the air is so clear

At this time of the year

That the whole world looks bright and new

And to me it’s quite plain

This scene has to be Maine…

And I love living here…how ‘bout you?
