Don’t let your heart be broken

  As the bombs fall,

I write with the poets of Gaza

                if I should die

say it was of

my broken heart

cursing genocide

                         oh Gaza

we could not hide

that the world watched

that we paid for

and wouldn’t stop

that my heart

couldn’t bear the sin

of what we’ve done

amen

if I should not answer

I may have died

of my breaking heart
