The Blue Hill Public Library, in partnership with Blue Hill Books, will host author Marie Dion for an author talk and book signing on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
Dion lived and worked in Blue Hill from 1995 to 1998 as Rosanne Romiglio, as an artist and, professionally, as creative director of Designwrights and later DW Communications Group.
While living in Blue Hill, Rosanne experienced a profound spiritual connection with her ancestors which later initiated her first book, Journey of a Red Soul. She writes under the pen name Marie Dion in honor of her great-great-grandmother and the resilience of Native families who were forced to hide their identity to protect their children from residential schools.
During the event, Dion will discuss her latest book, Returning What’s Sacred, which chronicles a ten-year journey of healing, faith, and the effort to return a Native sacred object to its rightful home in the American West. She reflects on the remarkable series of events that led to the object’s return and how the experience transformed her understanding of faith, responsibility, and the importance of honoring what is sacred. Learn more about her at MarieDion.com
The evening will include a talk by the author, a question-and-answer session, and an opportunity for attendees to meet Dion and have books signed. Copies of Returning What’s Sacred will be available for purchase at the event through Blue Hill Books.
This program is free and open to the public.
