Join Community Tree Steward Jonny Givelber to delve into apple history in the region and learn how we can be better stewards of our apples for future generations.

Jonny Givelber is a Maine Conservation Corps Service member serving as a Community Tree Steward with Island Heritage Trust. After arriving in Deer Isle, Jonny became interested in the ancient apple trees that seemed to be everywhere. Jonny partnered up with the Healthy Island Project to form the Deer Isle Apple Corps, a collaboration of apple lovers dedicated to researching, preserving, and appreciating our apple trees. During his time in Maine, he has found that there are many secrets to be discovered in our apples, and even more potential.
