A Guide to Local Government in Maine

The Blue Hill Library and the League of Women Voters of Maine will cosponsor a non-partisan presentation on local government in Maine with retired educators Cecilia Zavestoski and Claire Fox.

This educational session will review the basics of how Maine communities govern themselves. Participants will gain a better understanding of chartered versus unchartered communities and how cities and counties are governed, and more.

This session will inform residents of various ways they can participate in local government as a volunteer or in an elected or appointed office. For more information, email kayleigh.thomas@bhpl.net or call 374-5515.
