Talk: Turning Green Crabs from Coastal Scourge to Garden Gold

  • Brooklin School 41 School Street Brooklin, ME, 04616 United States (map)

A talk from the Brooklin Food Corps: Downeast farmer and fisherman Sam Cheeney, of Green Kraken, has developed a fertilizer from invasive European green crabs. Sam will explain how this crab meal fertilizer works in the garden, what farmers are seeing in the field, and how scaling green crab harvest and processing can help support both healthier soils and more resilient coastal communities. Right next to the BFC's annual garden sale.
