THE U-TURN: No, that’s not a spaceship

TAKE ME TO YOUR STEEPLE: While it may look other-worldly from this view, this new copper-clad steeple is waiting to be placed on top of the church tower at Reversing Falls Sanctuary in Brooksville. The steeple work is being done by Hewes & Co. Reversing Falls Sanctuary is celebrating its 25th year. Photo courtesy of Reversing Falls Sanctuary.

MIRROR, MIRROR: Many people consider the red boathouse on Conary Cove near Blue Hill Falls to be one of the most photogenic buildings on the peninsula. It's striking in all seasons, but perhaps at its best in the fall. The boathouse was built in 1924 by the Haskell family to serve as a base for their fleet of pleasure boats, including the schooner Troubador. Photo by Steele Hays.
