BLUE HILL—As summer sets in and the coast transforms into vibrant colors, people across the peninsula are taking the take time to embrace what makes living in ‘Vacationland’ so great. For many, summer is a chance to recharge after a long winter.
Whether they are tending to backyard gardens, enjoying the luxury of sleeping in, or seeking out outdoor adventures, our neighbors are ready to embrace the season.
The Rising Tide asked local community members what they are most looking forward to in the months ahead. Here is what they had to say:
CJ Gray, 12
Brooksville
“I’m excited about the boat races this summer.”
Kaelyn Hunter, 17

“I’m excited to enjoy the little moments this summer because this is my last year of a high school summer vacation. Being with my friends, family and holding onto those memories that I can take with me later on, but also mostly getting tan is one of my favorite parts about summer.”

“To work and ride my mini bike.”
Haley Jenkins

“I’m most excited about being able to relax, recharge, enjoy being outside, working in my garden and spending time with family and friends.”
Wyatt Jenkins, 16

“I am most excited about playing summer baseball and striper fishing!”
Max Larrabee, 10

“I am excited to swim in my pool.”
Melissa Proper

Peyton Hunter, 12
