We won’t allow our four-year-old granddaughter to play in the sand and the water behind our house

Regarding the pollution of Herrick Bay:
We have a house at the head of Herrick Bay. After we bought it six years ago, we learned about the issue of the pollutants. Then we heard a grant had been obtained to mitigate the problem, and we were pleased.
But thanks to the diligent work of the Shellfish Committee, we have come to understand that, despite the mitigation efforts, the problem continues. We applaud the committee for calling this hearing to attempt to resolve the issue. For a number of summers we haven’t allowed our now-four-year-old granddaughter play in the sand and the water behind our house. Don't we all agree its time to clean the bay?
