BLUE HILL— The 52 graduates of the George Stevens Academy Class of 2026 have been awarded more than $583,000 in scholarships from 59 organizations and individuals, the school announced at its annual ‘class night’ ceremony on June 12.

According to a press release, “the awards reflect the depth of community investment in GSA students and the generosity of the families, businesses, foundations, and civic organizations across the Blue Hill peninsula that fund them each year.” The release said that the scholarships were awarded based on criteria “set by each sponsor, including financial need, academic achievement, community leadership and involvement, educational objectives, and town residency.”

"The breadth of this support demonstrates the strength of our community," said Lila Gilbert, College and Career Counselor at George Stevens Academy, in the release. "These scholarships do more than ease costs — they encourage and empower students as they move forward."

Recipients were selected by either the GSA Scholarship Committee, which follows guidelines set by each award's sponsor or by the sponsoring organizations themselves the release said. Students will receive detailed information on their awards from the GSA Scholarship Committee or the awarding organization in the coming weeks.
