Fiancée “won’t give ring back”

Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Blue Hill

Sergeant Robert Morang responded to a suspicious incident report on April 15 after an individual was seen taking pictures of someone in Blue Hill.

On April 17, Sergeant Robert Morang received a report of an intoxicated person in the roadway. He was not able to locate the individual.

Brooklin

On April 16, Sergeant Robert Morang investigated a death that occurred at a residence in Brooklin. The death is believed to have been from natural causes.

Bucksport

Officer Robert Findlay is investigating a possible theft that occurred on April 12.

Gavin Libby, 22, of Brooksville received a citation for speeding along  Rte. 46 on April 12.

On April 13, Officer Robert Findlay received a protection order to be served.

A female resident reported an elderly male with no shoes on on April 14.

On April 16, a male resident reported loud music coming from the apartment next door.

Officer Jesse Dow responded to a violation of bail on April 17. A previously trespassed subject was found on the property.

On April 16, police received an automated crash notification from a cell phone. The phone was left on top of a car. No crash occurred.

Two individuals were found smoking marijuana outside of a local business on April 16.

Officers responded to two fights at the high school on April 17. One in the morning and another early that afternoon.

Cameron Orcutt, 18, of Orland, was traveling west on Mast Hill Road on April 17 when he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. He corrected the vehicle's trajectory, crossed the center line, and went off the road into a ditch. No injuries were reported but the vehicle was towed.

A person brought a stray dog to the shelter on April 17. 

Officer Matt Schmidt responded to a civil complaint on April 15. A resident reported that the fiancée “won’t give ring back”.

Deputy Police Chief David Winchester provided support for the Bridge the Gap race on April 18.

Officer Robert Findlay fielded a complaint about an erratic motor vehicle on April 18.

On April 17, Travis Hutchinson, 22, of Orland, received a citation for using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle.

Judah Cooper, 31, of Brewer, received a citation for operating an unregistered motor vehicle on April 18.

Deer Isle

Sergeant Robert Morang conducted a well-being check on a Deer Isle resident on April 17. Morang provided the individual with food.
