Grazing goats cause complaint
Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Blue Hill
Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo received a call regarding a female having a mental crisis in Blue Hill on April 14. The individual was transported to the hospital and placed in the hospital’s care.
On April 21, Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo received a request to check on the wellbeing of an elderly individual in Blue Hill. A public outreach group that assists elderly residents requested the check since they had not spoken to or seen the individual in a little while. The individual was located–they had been having phone troubles.
Bucksport
Officer Robert Findlay responded to an animal problem report on April 19–an individual was having an issue with the neighbors’ domesticated pigs.
Gavin Pierce, 22, of Bangor, was summoned on April 19 for driving with an expired registration.
Officer Trevor Luna responded to a suspicious person complaint at McDonald’s on April 19.
Samantha Stover, 32, of Stockton Springs, received a citation on April 19 for failure to provide insurance.
On April 19, Ryan Williford, 39, of Bucksport, received a citation for failure to provide insurance.
Cedric Gillette, 27, of Stockton Springs received a citation for operating unregistered on April 19.
On April 20, a female resident reported a naked man lying outside his apartment on a blanket.
Chase Cook, 22, of Belfast, received a citation on April 20 for failure to produce insurance.
On April 21, Ryan Kadey, 51, of Bucksport, received a citation for operating after suspension.
A subject reported a verbal altercation on April 21.
Lori Gathier, 55, of Bucksport, received a citation for failure to display a valid inspection on April 21.
Gregory Sauer, 40, of Bangor, was arrested on April 21 for operating under the influence.
On April 21, Kevin Frates, 47, of Buskport, received a citation for operating an unregistered vehicle and failure to produce evidence of insurance.
Officer Matt Schmidt responded to a report of needles found along a roadway on April 22.
An oven fire was reported on April 23.
According to the report, Officer Matt Schmidt responded to a report of a vehicle “down over the embankment” at Family Dollar on April 23. The vehicle was damaged.
On April 24 a resident reported goats on his property. They were “eating everything,” according to the police report.
Maya Sealander, 27, of Brooklin, received a citation for failure to produce insurance on April 24.
After failing to produce evidence of insurance, Todd Eckenfelder, 54, of Blue Hill, received a citation on April 24.
On April 24, Robert Box, 32, of Orland, received a citation for failure to produce evidence of insurance.
Lynne Quinn, 58, of Brooksville, received a citation for speeding on April 24.
Max Corwin, 36, of Bucksport, crashed on River Road on April 25. No injuries were reported but the car was damaged.
A crosswalk violation was reported on April 25.
On April 25, April Cromees, 44, of Bucksport, was summoned for operating after suspension.
Deer Isle
Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo responded to a report of the unattended death of a male, 70, on April 22. The death is believed to be of natural causes and is not considered suspicious.
Deputy Anthony Jones responded to a residence for a report of an unattended death of a female resident, 82. The death is suspected to be of natural causes and is not considered suspicious.
Orland
Patrick Power, 34, of Ellsworth, was summonsed for operating without a license on April 24.
Tyler Spofford, 31, of Orland, was charged with exceeding with criminal speeding on April 24. He was given a summons to appear at the Ellsworth District Court at a later date and released from the stop.
Joseph Ames, 42, of Orland was traveling northbound on Front Ridge Road when he crossed into the southbound lane and crashed on April 24. His vehicle was towed but no injuries were reported.
Sedgwick
Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo responded to a trespassing complaint on April 21. She met with both parties and issued a trespass notice to one of them.
Surry
On April 22, Deputy Austin McDonald assisted the Ellsworth Police Department with locating and serving two no trespass notices in Surry.
Deputy Gregory Mailhot conducted a wellbeing check at a residence on April 14. Everyone was safe.
