Campground death referred to state authorities
Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Blue Hill
Pamela Tarjan Staples, 72, was arrested on June 17 for violation of conditions of release. She was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.
Bucksport
Michael Soteres, 28, of Brewer, was issued a citation on June 22 for speeding.
On June 22, Scott Winegarden was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle while using a cellular device.
Deer Isle
Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo responded to a call regarding a female suffering from a mental health crisis on June 16. The individual requested medical attention and was transported to the hospital by Memorial Ambulance.
Orland
Deputies investigated the death of a 47-year-old male at a campground on June 21. The death is not currently considered suspicious and has been referred to the Medical Examiner's Office.
Sydnie Howard, 28, of Bucksport, was arrested on June 21 for operating under the influence and violation of conditions of release
Sedgwick
Deputy Dylan Pung investigated a trespass on June 16. Kernel M. Brissitt, 40, was arrested for operating under the influence and transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.
Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo responded to a report of an unattended death on June 17. The investigation determined the death was due to natural causes.
Deputies responded to an overdose complaint on June 21. Peninsula Ambulance transported the individual to Northern Light Blue Hill ER for medical treatment and a mental health evaluation.
Stonington
Deputy Wyatt Lord responded to a resident possibly experiencing a mental health crisis on June 21. The individual was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
Surry
Sergeant Marcus Downes assisted the Maine State Police with a family fight on June 16.
