Meth, cocaine and fentanyl found during traffic stop

Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Blue Hill

Deputy Mariza Gionfriddo conducted a well-being check on an elderly male on June 25. He confirmed he was “all set,” the report said.

On June 26, Deputy Gionfriddo responded to a residence where a female resident was experiencing a mental health crisis. Gionfriddo determined that the individual was not at risk of harm to herself, and family members were contacted to assist her.

Sergeant Robert Morang responded to a report of possible trespassers at a facility on June 29. The subjects were located and warned not to return.

Bucksport

A theft was reported and resolved on June 21.

On June 21, a vehicle was reported for “traveling too fast,” the report said.

A tree fell in the roadway on June 21.

A fireworks violation was reported on June 21. Officers determined it was unfounded.

Sara Malta, 31, of Bucksport, was arrested on June 21 for operating after revocation and unlawful possession of drugs. According to police, officers found meth, cocaine and fentanyl in her car during a traffic stop.

Daniel Bishop, 48, of Orland, was waiting for a delivery truck to move in the Hannaford parking lot on June 22 when Douglas Hewes, 79, of Orland, pulled out of his parking spot and into Bishop’s car. No injuries were reported.

A female resident “took off with her kids” on June 22, the report said.

Local authorities received a protection order for service on June 22.

A suspended driver was seen driving on June 22.

On June 22, a trespass notice was issued.

A resident reported on June 23 that his property had been moved by a roommate.

Officers received a protection order for service was received on June 23.

On June 23, Officer Jesse Down conducted a security check at the Silver Lake Cemetery.

A resident found stray dog barking at their front door on June 23.

An injured deer on the side of the road was reported on June 23.

Police received a report of a four-wheeler trespassing on June 23.

Jason Delano, 45, of Bucksport was traveling southbound on Rt. 15 on June 24 when a deer entered the roadway. Delano’s vehicle struck the deer and sustained functional damage. The vehicle was towed but no injuries were reported.

On June 24 a 75-year-old male was found on the floor. Emergency personnel responded.

A lost dog was returned to its owner on June 24.

Kenneth Herbert, 64, of Bucksport, was arrested on June 24 for domestic violence assault.

A fight broke out between two individuals on June 24. Both received warnings for disorderly conduct.

Deputy Chief David Winchester responded to a crash on June 25. Michael Saunders, 67, of Orland, struck a deer while traveling on Mast Hill Road. Neither Saunders nor his passenger, Isaac Dorr, 76, reported injuries.

Marion Robertson, 77, of Brewer, failed to yield right-of-way to Donald Collins, 42, of Bucksport, at the Bridge Street intersection on June 25. No injuries were reported.

Two suspicious vehicles were reported for “lingering” in a parking lot on June 25, the report said.

A resident reported equipment falling out of a crane truck on June 25.

On June 25, a daughter reported unwanted contact from a parent.

Officer Eric Marcel received a protection order for service on June 25.

A well-being check was conducted on a “transient male” on June 26, the report said.

Officers showed YMCA summer campers around the public safety building on June 26.

On June 26, a resident reported unauthorized access to social media accounts.

An officer assisted a motorist in changing their tire on June 26, after the person had chosen a “bad spot” to complete the work, the report said.

A trespasser was reported on June 26.

Drugs were found on June 27.

A resident reported that they’d found a child on June 27. The child was at their home.

A disorderly neighbor was reported on June 27.

On June 27, unknown individuals were reported on a property.

Officers responded to a report of a cyclist behaving “unusually,” on June 27, the report said.

Castine

After a traffic stop on Castine Road on June 30, Francis Lee, 45, was arrested for operating under the influence and violating conditions of release.

Orland

Deputy Gregory Mailhot responded to a disorderly situation at a residence on June 26. The report said “peace was restored,” and one individual was voluntarily transported to a hospital.

Randy Eldgridge, 70, of Orland, was arrested  on an active warrant on June 30. He was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.

Sedgwick

June 30, Sergeant Robert Morang performed a well-being check on a resident at the request of a doctor. He confirmed the individual was fine.

Surry

Devin Sprague was arrested for operating under the influence following a traffic stop on June 24. He was transported to the Hancock County Jail without incident.
