A suspicious fox, loose dogs, and chickens in the roadway

Arrest and incident reports are collected from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Bucksport Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrests are not convictions, and all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Bucksport

On July 5, a male was found sleeping in his car with his lights on.

A child was located on July 5 after a concerned citizen called the police department.

Animals were let out of a fenced area by a neighbor on July 5.

A loose dog was found on July 5.

Officer Matt Schmidt responded to a report of a fox seen near Miles Lane and Broadway on July 6.

A female requested assistance with her adult son on July 6.

On July 6, a noise complaint was filed about neighbors yelling.

An intoxicated shopper was reported on July 6.

David Peterson, 33, of Sebec, received a citation for speeding on July 6.

A suspicious male was seen in a parking lot on July 7.

Animals were reported on July 7 near a daycare.

Two computers were reported stolen from a car on July 7. Both were located.

An unknown person was reported to be staying in a vacant apartment on July 7.

On July 7, police received a report of a man in a yellow vest repeatedly knocking on a door at a residence.

A debit card was left at Bangor Savings Bank on July 7.

Douglas Libby, 42, of Bucksport, received a citation for failing to produce evidence of insurance on July 7.

An individual was locked out of a business on July 8.

On July 8, a female resident reported two males taking photos of her home. An unknown vehicle was in the driveway.

Cole Wills, 48, of Bucksport, was traveling through the intersection of Main Street and Rt. 1 on July 8 when Seyc Ryan, 19, of Bucksport, failed to yield right-of-way. The vehicles collided but no injuries were reported. Seyc received a citation for failing to keep right.

A male with mental health concerns asked to speak with an officer on July 8.

On July 9, a suspicious vehicle at the high school was reported.

An individual requested information from the sex offender registry on July 9.

A burglary report on July 9 was the result of a delivery truck.

Large numbers of turkeys, chickens and ducks in the roadway were reported on July 9.

An individual reported an abandoned excavator on River Road on July 9. No workers were present. Police determined the report was unfounded.

A third-party assault report was made on July 10. The incident is under investigation.

Ashley Oleson, 39, of Bucksport was arrested on July 9 for criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and refusal to sign a USAC.

A loose dog was reported on July 10.

On July 10, an individual reported “occupants of a vehicle sticking legs out of open doors while driving, blowing an airhorn and yelling at pedestrians and passing vehicles,” the report said.

A reported cash theft on July 10 is under investigation.

Cody Davis, 33, of Bucksport, struck a deer while driving on July 11. No injuries were reported.

On July 11, a male was reported outside a residence.

Castine

On July 3, Deputy Devin Grindle responded to a disorderly conduct complaint. The investigation resulted in the parties being separated and issued a warning.

Orland

Sergeant Robert Morang investigated a property damage incident on Route 1 on July 10. As a result, Joshua Carter, 52, of Bucksport, was arrested for operating under the influence.

Surry

Jay Rider, 49, was charged with failure to register a vehicle on July 7. He received a court summons.
