The Blue Hill Library and Blue Hill Books will present a talk with Maine author Caitlin Shetterly on Thursday, May 28 at 6:00 p.m. for her new novel The Gulf of Lions, a standalone sequel to her debut Pete and Alice in Maine. "Reconciling with her husband after a betrayal and recovering from a yearlong battle with breast cancer, Alice longs for an escape from the trials of everyday life. When the opportunity arises for a camping trip across France, she packs up her daughters, hoping it’s the new start she so desperately needs.” A beautiful meditation on womanhood, personhood, exploration, survival and sexual awakenings, The Gulf of Lions plumbs the eternal question: "What, in the end, will keep a family from falling apart?" Caitlin Shetterly is the author of Modified, Made for You and Me, and Pete and Alice in Maine. She is the editor of the bestselling Fault Lines: Stories of Divorce, and she won the Maine Literary Award for Modified in 2017. This program is free and open to all. Blue Hill Books will be onsite with copies of the book available for purchase. For more information, contact Kayleigh at kayleigh.thomas@bhpl.net or 374-5515.
