The Blue Hill Library and Blue Hill Books will present an author talk with W.H. 'Bill' Bunting on Wednesday, July 29 at 7:00 p.m. for his new book Captain Drew's World: Dispatches from the Age of Global Sail. Maritime historian and editor W. H. Bunting has compiled the writings of Captain John Drew, 1834-1890 (a native of Hallowell Maine) and gathered them in his new book with enlightening annotation. Captain Drew’s World: Dispatches from the Age of Global Sail provides readers a vivid window onto the great age of sail from both coasts of the United States to the Caribbean, Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, and beyond. W. H. Bunting is an award-winning maritime historian and author, whose books include Portrait of a Port: Boston 1852-1914; Sea Struck; Live Yankees: The Sewalls and Their Ships; and A Day’s Work, in two volumes. This program is free and open to all and will be held in the library's Pearson Room. Blue Hill Books will be on site with copies of the book available for purchase.
