The headlines are hot at Brooklin School this spring as students get ready to perform Disney’s Newsies Jr., a high-energy musical packed with catchy songs, lively dance numbers, and plenty of old-fashioned newspaper spirit. Performances will be held on Thursday, May 28, and Friday, May 29 at 6 p.m. at The Brooklin School.

Based on the hit Broadway musical and inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899, Newsies Jr. follows Jack Kelly and his fellow “newsies” as they band together to stand up for what’s right. Brooklin students have been hard at work learning the choreography, songs, and story, bringing to life themes of courage, friendship, and determination on stage.

Families, friends, and community members of all ages are invited to come cheer on these young performers and enjoy an evening that celebrates both theater and the power of the press. Brooklin School’s Newsies Jr. runs May 28 & 29 at 6 p.m. at The Brooklin School; donations are welcome at the door.
