Movie Night at the Brooklin General Store with Friend Memorial Public Library
Join us for another Friend Memorial Public Library movie night, which will be hosted by the Brooklin General Store (4 Reach Road) on Saturday 10/17. This month we will be showing Labyrinth, a musical fantasy film following a teenage girl's wacky, world-bending journey to save her baby brother. Brooklin Fall Fest with Friend Memorial Public Library
Join the town of Brooklin to celebrate Fall! The Friend Memorial Public Library (1 Reach Road) will be open special hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and all over town events will be going on to welcome the season. On top of being open, the library will be hosting Maine singer songwriter Cheryl Jeanette for a concert and sound healing circle at noon. We will host a small book sale as well as local farmers and growers on the front lawn.

Exhibit: No Sleep ’Til Brooklin
The Penobscot Marine Museum presents No Sleep ’Til Brooklin: Pack Dodge and the Haven Colony, 1900–1930 at the Rockbound Chapel in Brooklin, on display through September 30, 2026. Featuring rare early 20th-century photographs taken by seasonal resident Parker “Pack” Dodge, the exhibit offers a unique look into daily life within Maine’s summer communities. Art in the Brooklin Community Garden
Join artist Tom Curry and designer Elizabeth Whelan for a couple of hours of creativity. Friend Memorial Public Library in Brooklin (1 Reach Road) will be hosting a Mystery Writers Panel with Brenda Buchanan and Cheryl Head on Tuesday 7/28 at 4 p.m. Buchanan is a writer and lawyer who writes crime novels based around Portland, Maine, notably their mystery series on local sleuth and reporter, Joe Gale; Head writes historical crime fiction short stories and novels, including the Charlie Mack Motown Mysteries. Third Annual Community Potluck Picnic
The Brooklin Reads Book Club, hosted by Friend Memorial Library in collaboration with the Brooklin Food Corps, will be partnering with the Brooklin Climate Response Committee to host another Community Potluck Picnic! Swing by the Carding Brook Farm in Brooklin (4 Carlton Dr) on Saturday 7/25 at 4:30 p.m. to try some tasty indigenous food by Penobscot Nation Chef Joe Robbins, accompanied by live music from BAMU.
