Downeast Restorative Justice will offer a mini-presentation on Restorative Justice, followed by facilitated conversations that explore community-based response to conflict, transgressions and harm: that is, community-based interventions that do not include engaging criminal justice responses. These conversations will offer an opportunity for people to share their own thoughts on concepts such as accountability and ownership, repair and healing, community and responsibility, voluntary participation and authority--just to name some of the elements and complexities that surface when contemplating community-based responses to infractions and harm.

Our hope is that attendees will have an opportunity to share their perspectives in conversation, and having had a glimpse of the possibilities of Restorative Justice and of the work of DRJ does, leave with piqued interest and perhaps desire to know more.
