Kids and their families are invited to a special program with Blue Hill Bach on Friday, July 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the Howard Room at the Blue Hill Public Library. In partnership with the Ellsworth Community Music Institute, children will learn how to make their very first violin using recycled materials. Participants will also have the chance to learn how to hold a violin and bow and try basic bowing techniques. No prior experience is required, and all ages are welcome. This special one-time class will also introduce a new program at the music institute's school called Mini Strings, a weekly group violin class for ages 3–6 held in Ellsworth. This program is free and cosponsored by the library, Blue Hill Bach, and Ellsworth Community Music Institute. For more information, contact Youth Services Librarian Claire at claire.malina@bhpl.net or call 374-5515.
