Burial places -- “burying grounds” vs. “graveyards” vs. “cemeteries”
Colonial burial practices — Orientation of graves, head & foot stones, grave depth, etc
Gravestones basics — Different types of materials found, and when they were in use.
Symbolism — Some basics about how symbols reflect occupation, affiliations, religion, and even length of the person’s life.
Inscriptions/Epitaphs — Examples of how the words inscribed on a stone help tell a person’s story.
