Castine church offering $1,000 scholarships

By staff

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Castine (UUCC) has announced that it will again offer the Rev. Randall Hilton Scholarship to graduating high school seniors from Bucksport High School, Deer Isle-Stonington High School, Ellsworth High School and George Stevens Academy, as well as to non-traditional and older students.

Scholarships may be used for any higher education facility, continuing education, technical training, or any other endeavor to gain proficiency or expand one’s knowledge in a chosen field, according to a press release.

Successful candidates will be selected by UUCC’s scholarship committee and will be announced in the spring. The Scholarship Committee may adjust the number and amount of each scholarship given, up to $1,000 each. To apply, contact your school’s Guidance Office or visit the UUCC scholarship page to download an application and scholarship criteria.
