RESCHEDULED August 18th Public Hearing 1) To generate Findings of Fact for the Amendments to Permit #4391 (dated 9/9/25) which were reviewed by the Castine Planning Board on 6/16/26. This Public Hearing is necessitated following the Castine Zoning Board of Appeals 8/4/26, remand of the Findings of Fact from the June Public Hearing back to the Planning Board for further development.

Zoning Board of Appeals public hearing to hear the appeal of EF Smith Ltd, 13 Sea Street, Tax Map 21, Lot 60, regarding the Dennett's Wharf reconstruction project located at 15 Sea Street, Castine, Tax Map 21, Lot 57-8. The appeal alleges that errors were made by the Planning Board and the Code Enforcement Officer in the Planning Board's 6/16/2026 site plan review of field change amendments to the reconstruction plan. This project was originally permitted by the Town of Castine with Permit Number 4391 dated September 09, 2025.

Town of Penobscot Notice of Public Hearing
To discuss a business permit application for Sanchez and Son Silverado and Sierra Parts located at 398 Front Ridge Road in North Penobscot. Owners Zach and Katherine Sanchez are requesting a business permit for processing GM vehicles for parts and to sell used cars. This permit from the town is required for the state to approve the at-home business for a dealer plate license for car sales.
Town of Stonington Public Visioning Session
The Town of Stonington is updating its Comprehensive Plan and is seeking public input to help shape the town’s future resilience and priorities. Residents, property owners, and community members are invited to attend a public visioning session at the Stonington Town Office (in person only).
Participants will have a chance to share priorities, concerns, and ideas for Stonington’s future as part of an update process facilitated by the Hancock County Planning Commission and supported in part by a Community Action Grant from the Maine Office of Community Affairs. A gift card raffle will be drawn at the end of the event.
